Worktops influence both the appearance and everyday practicality of a kitchen. A new surface can refresh a familiar room, but the right approach depends on the existing installation.
An overlay is designed to sit over a suitable existing worktop. It is not appropriate in every case: the existing surface and supporting cabinets need to be assessed, particularly around sinks, hobs, joins and edges. If there is swelling, damage or movement, simply covering the problem may not be advisable.
A full replacement opens up different material, thickness and edge options. Your choice should reflect how you cook, clean and use the space. Consider resistance to heat and stains, maintenance, the appearance of joins and the compatibility of sink or hob cut-outs.
Before agreeing a quotation, ask what is included in templating, removal, fitting, sealing and any plumbing or electrical work. Also clarify how splashbacks, upstands and adjoining surfaces will be finished.
Kiss Kitchens & Doors Limited can discuss replacement worktops and suitable overlay options for homes in Witney, Oxfordshire and surrounding areas. We will confirm material availability and suitability for each project.
